Hint: Finding Shiva (Final Fantasy 5):
Go to Waltz Castle and walk into the water on the roof. Find the large waterfall, walk into the middle of it, and continue to walk up the stairs until you see a glowing ball. Walk up and talk to the ball. Fight and defeat Shiva to get her as a summon.

Hint: Finding Ramuh (Final Fantasy 5):
Get the airship and fly to Easterly Falls, up in the northwest corner of the map. Walk around in the forest until you encounter Ramuh. Fight and defeat Ramuh to get him as a summon.

Hint: Extra ABP (Final Fantasy 5):
In Phoenix Tower, after every few stairs you will reach a room with two pots, one on each side of the room. One of the pots contain money, but the other contains a monster. The enemy is called "Magic Pot" and will not attack you. He will say "Gimme Elixer". Use an Elixer on him and he will reward with 100 ABP and an item. This is possibly the easiest way to master items like Mimes, Samurais, Chemists, and Ninjas.

Hint: No battles in Phoenix Tower (Final Fantasy 5):
Use the following door order: left, left, right, left, left, right, left, left, right, left, left, right, right, left, right, left, left, right, and up.

Hint: Get Cain/Kain (Final Fantasy 5):
At the beginning of the game give the name -Cain- or -Kain- to the main character. Then, as soon as possible, turn him into a Dragon Knight and master him. You can also teach him the Summon command.

Hint: Get Hydra Summon (Final Fantasy 5):
In World 3, use the airship to return to the pirate's base in the middle of the mountains. As you enter, Faris will appear and run to the right side of the base. He sees an illusion of Hydra. You will then get to summon Hydra, who uses the very useful attack, Thunder.

Hint: Shoat Summon (Final Fantasy 5):
In World 2 with the submarine you will find a tunnel underwater at the bottom part of the northwestern-most continent. Go through the tunnel and get into a fight. Shoat is difficult to defeat. His only attack does not miss and turns your characters into stone. The tunnel (outside in the water) is a yellow circle in the rock wall. The tunnel is also a good place to level up.

Hint: Mirage Town (Final Fantasy 5):
Get the airship and fly to Cresent Island. Head to the middle of the joined continent, and land next to a forest there. Walk around in the forest until it seems you have gotten into a battle. The screen will be fuzzy instead of the normal swirl for starting a battle. This town has extremely good weapons, 6 level six magic spells, and great armor. There are two shops in every store, so search around the town.

Hint: Black Chocobo in World 3 (Final Fantasy 5):
Fly to Mirage Town and stand near the pub. If you go around through a back door, you will appear behind the counter of the pub. Check the barrels below you to get a useful weapon, the Thief's Knife. Head left to find some stairs, and continue through the area. Put on the "Secret" ability or make one of your characters a thief. Head through a secret passage to find a door, and past that, a piano. Play the Piano and head through the door to find the Black Chocobo.

Hint: Bone Mail (Final Fantasy 5):
The Bone Mail is in the Dragon Valley in Galuf's world. In the first area where you start to see bones, you will pass the ribs. The Bone Mail is in a small pile of bones just before you turn the corner on the cliff's edge. This armor is for Knights, Samurais, Sorcerers, etc. This armor will serve well until the end of the game.

Hint: Chicken Knife or Brave Sword (Final Fantasy 5):
Go to the town of Moore in World 3. Head southwest to find a barn-like location. Enter it to find yourself in the forest below. Wander around until you find a wizard who will tell to pick from two crates. Pick the right one for the Chicken Knife, or the left one for the Brave Sword. The Chicken Knife can be easily powered-up, up so it is even more powerful than the Excalibur. The Brave Sword powers up when you win battles, the Chicken Knife powers up when you run.

Hint: Magic Summoning Lamp (Final Fantasy 5):
In World 3, take Boko northeast then west until you reach the top of Easterly Falls. Walk into the waterfall and press X to get the Magic Lamp. It will summon in this order: Bahamut, Leviathan, Odin, Hydra, Carbuncle, Golem, Titan, Ifrit, Ramuh, Shiva, Remora, Sylph, Chocobo. It uses no MP if you are summoning weak monsters, or none. Return to the same location to refill it.

Hint: Elixir (Final Fantasy 5):
You can steal an Elixir from the Zuu outside the castle with the Fire Crystal. This can give you an early advantage in the game.

Hint: Random hidden character appearance (Final Fantasy 6):
When at the starting menu (before going into a game), you can randomly see characters, including Squall, from other games in the Final Fantasy series.

Hint: Defeating Atma Weapon (Final Fantasy 6):
Use RASP until Atma Weapon is out of MP to wound him.

Another technique is to cast Vanish and Doom.

Hint: Defeating Wrexsoul (Final Fantasy 6):
Take Gogo, a character that has the X-Zone spell, and a character with the Vanish spell. Make sure Gogo has the Magic skill equipped, and not Runic (it is useless in this battle). Cast Vanish on the two creatures, and then use X-Zone. They will die and you will win the battle. Your rewards are the Aura, Cyan, and the Alexander Esper. It is useful in battle against creatures such as Doomgaze, which is weak against Pearl.

Hint: Defeating Kefka for the final time (Final Fantasy 6):
When fighting Kefka for the final time in Kafka's tower, throw the Atma weapon. He should either die or be weak enough to be defeated with one more hit.

Hint: Defeating almost every Boss (Final Fantasy 6):
To kill almost every Boss in the game, cast Vanish then Doom to kill it. The Vanish makes the Boss always get hit by magic spells.

Hint: Easy experience (Final Fantasy 6):
Get an Exp. Egg and fight some Tyranos in the forests above the veldt at the World Of Ruin. Use Vanish, Doom or Vanish, X-Zone in the battle.

Note: The following trick requires a turbo controller, a PlayStation that can be left on for an extended amount of time, and tape. In the World of Balance, go to the Lete River. Get on the raft outside of the Returner's hideout. Go to the menu at the first save point. Select "Config", then "Cmd. Set". Select "Short" and press X. Place Banon's health spell at the top instead of fight, then save the game. On the river, go up at the first intersection. Turn on the turbo for X (or the entire controller). Tape X down, so it will always be active. The characters will fight and heal automatically. Leave the game in this condition overnight. This should result in an increase in HP and MP. Disable the turbo, and go the other way. You will find a save point where you can check your levels, Sabin's blitz techniques, and Terra's magic. Save the game if needed. Also, if you want to do this again, as soon as you check your characters disable the turbo and have them kill each other. You will lose all the GP and items you have gained, but your character's levels will be the same. You will be at the first save point, allowing you to repeat the trick as needed.

Go to the green area around Doma Castle. You will find find Sprintors, Spektors And Tummble Weads there. Always use your most powerful fire attacks for easy defeats. As soon as your characters get powerful enough, you should put only one person in your party and fight around that area to get a lot of experience.

Hint: Quick MP (Final Fantasy 6):
In the World Of Balance, go to the triangular island in the very top right corner. Keep walking around until encountering the invisible monster called Intangir. Simply chant death on it to gain 10 MP.

In the World Of Ruin, go to the desert south west of Maranda. There a creature called Cactros that has 3 HP, but is hard to hit and is immune to almost all magic. Use Cyan's Dispatch, Edgar's Drill, or Sabin's Bum Rush to defeat it.

Hint: Give Gogo any commands (Final Fantasy 6):
Go to Gogo's status screen. Look at his commands. You will see Mimic and three empty slots below it. Choose one of the empty slots and a list of all of the commands from the other characters you have will appear. Choose the one you want, then do the same with the other two slots. For example, you can have Mimic, Blitz, Tools, and Swordtech all at the same time, if desired.

Hint: More damage with Locke (Final Fantasy 6):
Equip Locke with Offering and Genji Glove. Then, give him the Atma weapon Valiant Knife. Although this is best when around 4000 HP, he still does a lot of damage if less is available.

Hint: Getting the Paladin Shield (Final Fantasy 6):
Equip the Cursed Shield and a Ribbon (so the effects of the Cursed Shield are negated). Fight 255 battles to transform the Cursed Shield into the Paladin Shield.

The easiest way to turn the Cursed Shield to the Paladin Shield is as follows. Go the Solitary island, where you started in the World of Ruin. Equip the Cursed Shield, and the Ribbon to negate the effects of it. Stay out of the desert and just fight Peepers. If desired, you do not have to do anything. They have 1 HP and 0 MP, and kill themselves after about five to ten seconds. If you bring Locke with you, he will be able to steal every couple of battles before the Peepers kill themselves. Every few times, if the Sneak Ring and Thief Glove Are equipped, he will steal an elixir. Also, make sure you have Espers equipped. While you only get 1 MP for winning, you do have to fight 255 battles to change the shield, so many party members can learn new spells. Make sure you pick up Palidor from the beach by the house on the island.

Hint: Atma Weapon combo (Final Fantasy 6):
This trick requires the Atma Weapon (Cave to Esper World), Offering (In World Of Ruin, Odin's Castle), and approximately 7,000 HP. The Atma Weapon powers up by your HP. With high HP you should be able to do 9,999 damage to every enemy (even Kefka). With the Offering, you will do this four times (39,996 damage) in just one turn.

Hint: Another Atma Weapon (Final Fantasy 6):
I is possible to get another Atma Weapon during the final set of battles. When battling the warrior with a woman's head above and behind him (just before god Kefka), steal from the woman's head. You should now be able to equip another Atma Weapon to a character.

Hint: Random hat replacement (Final Fantasy 6):
Un-equip the hat of the character you like the most. Sell all other hats you have. Then, go to the hatless character's equipment screen and select "Optimum". Sometimes a random item (usually a Genji Glove) will be equipped as a hat, and boosts defense up to 255.

Hint: Stealing a Gengi Glove (Final Fantasy 6):
On the floating continent in the World Of Balance, you can steal a Genji Glove from the Dragon. Bring Locke along and equip him with either a Genji Glove and the Thieve's Glove (or the Steal Ring and the Thieve's Glove). The dragon also carries a potion.

Hint: Economizer relic (Final Fantasy 6):
This relic turns all MP used on any magic move to only 1 MP. You can only get it the second world, after Kefka blows up the world, above the Veldt (the place where you teach Gau new moves). It is a small forest patch on the island just north of the Vedlt Island. You will be close when Tyranos start attacking. Keep fighting them and every once and a while a monster called a Bracosaur will attack. Have Locke steal from it. If that was unsuccessful, kill it and hope that it appears after the battle.

Hint: Get the Genji Glove early (Final Fantasy 6):
When Bannon asks you to join the Returners, say "No" three times. One of the people inside will give you the Genji Glove.

Hint: Getting the Soul Saber (Final Fantasy 6):
To obtain this sword, in the World Of Ruin go to Firgao and into the dungeon where Edgar rejoins your party. Go into the room were all the thieves entered. At the center is a statue of armor. Approach to it and press X to get the Soul Saber. This is a great sword, as it deals damage by how much MP you used. It also refills you MP.

Hint: Easy Catrot battles (Final Fantasy 6):
You will find a creature called the Cactrot in the desert southwest of Maranda. It only has 3 HP, an extremely high Evade. Equip your characters with a Sniper Sight and a Genji Glove to take off 2 HP every time it is attacked. This can also be helpful when you face a Catrot in the coliseum.

Equip the Sniper Sight and the Atma Weapon (which should be found before you even get to World of Ruin). This will kill Cactrot with one hit.

Hint: Cast Ultima five times for 1 MP (Final Fantasy 6):
Equip the Economizer and Gem Box relics to allow you attack two times for 2 MP. Make sure you know the magic Quicke, then enter a battle. Cast Quicke followed by Ultima, then just Ultima four more times.

Hint: Throw anything twice (Final Fantasy 6):
The following trick allows you to throw anything twice, even if you only have one of the item. Have Gogo mimic Shadow to throw the same item twice. Note. If you throw an item that you have more than one of, Gogo will use his own and you will lose two items instead of one.

Hint: Get through tough levels without avoiding battles (Final Fantasy 6):
If you are fighting foes who primarily do not use magic, cast Vanish on all your party members. Afterwards, most battles can be fought without taking damage. Occasionally, you will have to recast Vanish when magic is actually used. This works very well if you battle Bosses, such as Umaro, who do not use magic, and you are tired of using the Vanish/Doom trick.

Hint: Good Coliseum techniques (Final Fantasy 6):
Information in this section was contributed by Chris Luzynski.

Get the Marvel Shoes
Bet the Flame Sabre to get something (face a "hard" Ninja). Bet that item to get the Rename Card (face Cactrot). Bet the Rename Card to get the Marvel Shoes (face DoomDragon)
Cactrot battle
It helps if your other relic are the Marvel Shoes. If you do not have them, get the Cure Ring, as he has a 1,000 point attack.
Most other battles after getting the Marvel Shoes
Equip the Marvel Shoes and Dragoon Boots. It also helps if you have made it to at least level 35, and have either the Genji or Aegis shield, plus the Force Armor. Do not use the Atma Weapon here. It also helps if you know some spells, such as Stop.
The Doom Dragon
Equip the same relics and armor as above, also equip the Flame shield. The dragon know S.Cross, a powerful "fire" spell -- this will absorb it. If you have good magic defense, his N.Cross "ice" spell will rarely, if ever hit. With the Dragon Boots you can be in the air and gain some life back with the Marvel Shoes. He does use Fallen One, which takes your HP down to 1, but rarely attacks so you can gain life back. It helps if you are at a higher level so you can evade his rare non-magic attacks.
Rename Card
Another way to get the rename card in the coliseum, which you need to get the marvel shoes, is to bet an Elixir. Then you can fight and should easily beat Cactrot.

Hint: Good setup for either Terra or Celes in WOR (Final Fantasy 6):
The following is a good setup for either Terra or Celes in WOR, , but before gaining the Marvel Shoes. Equip the relic that allows you to hold two weapons. 2. Equip Drainer with the right hand, and Atma Weapon with the left. This allows you to gain HP first, which makes the Atma weapon more powerful immediately on the same attack. The Mystery Veil, Force Armor is good for armor, and Running Shoes and another relic is also good (Cure Ring is not necessary). After gaining the Marvel Shoes, equip the Soul Sabre, which you also win in the Coliseum instead. With the Marvel Shoes and good armor, you should be near the maximum HP most of the time, and will instead need to gain MP back.

Hint: Level up strategy (Final Fantasy 6):
When leveling, make sure you have the right Esper you want equipped to give you bonus leveling points. Once you gain Bahamut, make sure the person with the Atma Weapon is using it to gain HP +50%,. This will make the Atma Weapon even more powerful.

Hint: Get Cyan in World Of Ruin (Final Fantasy 6):
Go to the town of Zozo. Talk to the only man that is walking around (not jumping from building to building or laying down). He will give you an item. Then, go to the top of the building with the door that is rusted shut and use the item that the man gave you. It will open the rusted door, which leads to Mt. Zozo. There, you will get in a lot of fights and eventually meet up with Cyan.
